I have to write a report for my English 1D class. It's argumentation. I have to talk about both sides of a certain topic...like, why killing animals for fur should or shouldn't be allowed.

Help me out.

You might get more material for arguing over using animals for medical science than a fur debate though.

Here are some new twists to the abortion debate:

(1) If both sides believe religiously in their position either for or against abortion, then technically the state cannot endorse laws favoring one side so as to impose on the religious freedom of the dissenting opponents, or else that side can claim First Amendment violations. In order to ensure "equal protection" by the Fourteenth Amendment, all laws would have to be passed by consensus of the public, to avoid imposing religious bias.

(2) One could argue that laws illegalizing abortion would punish women, while male partner are not held responsible. Clearly the male partner is equally responsible for engaging in sex, if not more so in the case of rape. So there seems to be an unfair bias.

To remedy or balance this situation, could legislation be introduced putting equal responsibility on the male? What if any act of sex that led to an unwanted pregnancy, child or abortion could be charged as a lesser degree of rape; so that men are held responsible for unwanted sex and its consequences, and for making sure that the woman legally consents.

There is at least one college that requires students to sign consent forms in advance. So what if men were encouraged to get signed proof of their partner's consent in order to avoid possible rape charges later. Would this encourage couples to discuss and agree on the terms of sex and pregnancy in advance?

If this approach would more effectively reduce the incidence of unwanted pregancy or abortion, by addressing the initial choice by both partners, related legislation might offer a more fair balance instead of putting all the legal burden on women.

Why not something about the reasons for legalizing marijuana for medicinal purposes? Or the reasons to abolish the death penalty? The fur one seems rather overdone these days.
