I used to drive with mostly my left hand because my right hand was holding a soda, changing the radio station or resting on the gear shift. We're supposed to be driving with both hands when possible. Besides, there's not much for your left hand to do other than flop out the window.
*I didn't drive stick shift either. I barely knew how. But the automatic gear shift was still sticking out from between the seats.

Yes. A lot of us drive that way because we learned to drive with manual transmissions so we were shifting gears and used our right hand for that. Even now that most cars have floor shift automatic transmissions a lot of people drive with their right hand on the shifter.

it really is safer to drive with both hands , but I GUESS IF YOUR COMFORTABLE USING YOUR LEFT HAND that's normal for you, guess that would feel odd to some, like using a pencil with the left hand if your right handed.but come to think of it I use my left hand when I DRIVE AND SMOKE A Cigarette ,hold cigarette with right hand ,bet a lot of the smokers do that.,cause ash tray is to the right. some don;t care use the left and just pitch them out the window.maybe they should make left hand side ash trays.
