You would burn up or freeze solid.. either way you would be dead in a couple of seconds.

Okay: This is a messy question. I note: no protection...

You were alive and in good health until someone opened the door to the escape chamber and released the atmosphere inside so that it equalized with Zero atmosphere outside.

At that instant, the 14 pounds per square inch of pressure your body pushes back on our atmosphere with would suddenly have no resistance, and you would inflate like a balloon and explode in a split second. Most likely you would never have a chance to exit the escape chamber itself before the explosion of your body occurred. It would be a mess.

Comments by other respondents about burning up, or freezing are immaterial. First you would explode. Then, what ever was left would freeze in the extreme frigid temperatures of zero atmosphere (no gas molecules to retain heat). All this would occur very, very quickly.

If we were to assume some kind of door opened to the outside of the ship, or capsule, you were traveling in, there is a very strong possibility that you would be sucked out of the crack in the door as it opened and the atmosphere was released into outer space. The time line is vague because no particulars were given regarding the shape and size of your exit room/escape hatch. i rather expect that some remote controls might exist to control the equalization of the pressure within the escape hatch, however, and that in reality they would lower the pressure (vent the atmosphere) until it was zero (equal to outside) which means that you would be dead and exploded before the door opened. Consider that if they didn't do that, the door itself would fly open with tremendous force and probably be damaged significantly which would ruin a perfectly good space ship or capsule.

I would not recommend having beans for supper prior to this risky space walk.

You would explode because of the lack of air pressure. Believe it or not, you are being pushed on by air at 14 pounds per square inch. Your body pushes back that hard so you don't notice it. But if you went to another planet w/ no atmosphere and therefore no air pressure, your body would still push back and, yes, you might explode if the change was sudden enough.

Atmospheric pressure is what keeps water from boiling. On earth, that tempature is 100 degrees Centigrade, on Mars it would be much lower it's almost non-existant. (Though you might have a bit of difficulty keeping liquid water on the moon, that's a different question entirely.)

In a Zero Pressure environment, your bodily fluids would boil in your body, and the oxygen that was released would seek a way out of your body to equalize the pressure. Your veins would burst and your eyes.. well.. that would be icky.

You wouldn't really 'explode' persey, parts of your body would burst, sure. But an explosion is a run away chemical reaction that produces vast ammounts of gases in a short period of time, or a nuclear reaction of the same tolken but of energy and heat rather than gases so much.

First of all you wouldn't be able to breathe Second, there would be no protection from solar radiation so you would experiance something like being in a microwave. Third, depending on your ditasnce from the nearest star you would be either very cold or very warm. Ultimately without air pressure, it would be exactly as you guessed, your body would explode.

Planet pending, you would either burn or freeze. Or you would suffocate from the lack of oxygen, assuming that you are in a human body and on a planet that does not have an atmosphere akin to the Earth's.

Put a cup of water in a pan on the stove. Turn the heat on high and watch. Then think of everything that has moisture in your body, doing this. Only not taking as much time.

It would be one of the worst ways of dying. Your body would be pulled apart. It also depends on what side of the planet you are on. Even the shade side of Mercury is cold.

I don't want to go into detail, (kids read this stuff) but the planet would have no effect on you. You die, quickly and messily.

the only reason youd explode is because the planet has a high gravitational pull.

but most likely youll float and then your head would pop.
