My pool is leaking. I closed off the bottom main drain because I thought that was where the leak was coming from. Apparently, that wasn't it because it is still leaking..about 1 inch every 24 hours. Once the water level gets to the bottom of my return jet, there is no more leakage. After the pump has been off for a while, there is little water left in the pump. It takes about 15 to 20 seconds, then it finally blows water out the jet in the pool. Since I am only operating from my skimmer now, does this mean the leak has to be in the suction line (between my skimmer and pump) or could it be in the pressure line between the pump and the return jet? When I do get the pump primed again, it never loses all the bubbles.

If the leaking stops when it gets down to the return jet line I would say it is in that pipe, prob. a crack in it, leak on suction side.

well you ansered your own question, this happend to me but you did not say if your pool is a inground or above ground,my pool inground had the same problem dig around the areas where your jets are chances are you had a pvc pipe let go once you find water in the holes you found the jet that is leaking I had to dig 5 feet down to the middle jet till I found my cracked pipe took 5 minutes to fix digging is the worst part.If you have a above ground check the liner around the jets to the water line to see if the jets pulled the liner away and check the water line around the pool liner for holes

This is how to. Wwe have a pool too. You need to place some chewing gum where the leak is.
