Please take this animal to a reptile vet ASAP. It will need an x-ray to determine if this injury can be repaired. If the injury is repairable it will need surgery. You can ask the vet at the time of the visit about the costs. But please, do not hesitate to take this animal to the vet. You can ask yourself if you broke your shoulder if it would hurt. This animal is in a lot of pain and probably won't eat because of this and will eventually die. Please tell your parents about this and get help for your Iguana. Good Luck!

OH boy!! Your poor reptile!!
Get your little man to a vet!! It's probably going to cost a bit because he might need surgery and what not... but every hospital is different.
Your iguana probably won't die from a broken bone (or, rather, a shattered bone), but you never know. If he doesn't get seen the bone won't heal properly and that could cause many other problems down the road.
Get your little guy into a vet as soon as possible!!
Good luck!!

There are some veterinarians that have teaching hospitals, where animals that have injuries and illnesses can stay for treatment regardless of financial reasons or what not. But, many times, the animal will have to be surrendered and taken in by the veterinarian as a teaching animal. Chances are that your iguana may have sustained injuries due to a lack of vitamins. Many owners of reptiles do not know that many reptiles are prone to vitamin and osteoporosis. If, you want the iguana to live and finances are an issue, this may it's only chance for treatment. Otherwise, it may cost a fortune and I don't know if you have the financial means. Just an option and not a suggestion.

Awww I am very sorry to hear about your iguana. Yes your best bet is to take him to a vet ASAP. The vet bill won't be that much itself prolly $100 but if it needs surgery then it could get expensive. Anyways the only way to know for sure what is going on with your iguana is to take him to a vet. I hope the best for you and your iguana. Best of luck!!!

Contact your regional herp society if in case you have one. A puppy retailer which makes a speciality of reptiles could recognise of a well herp vet. If no longer, name the regional zoo and ask in the event that they recognise of anybody who treats herps who maybe open. Get it to a vet who offers with reptiles as swiftly as viable. Reptiles don't reply the equal to anaesthesia as a mammal, and an extra suturing process is critical to make sure that their incisions heal thoroughly if surgical procedure is critical. Somnthing which matters me is that a fall from this type of quick distance commonly must no longer effect in a fracture even though it is onto a tough floor. Iguanas are notoriously susceptible to metabolic bone ailment which calls for special healing if gift. Trying to splint the damage your self might intent furthur fractures because the lizard struggles to loose itself if MBD is gift.

take it to the vet. the vet will tell you how bad it is and how much it will cost for a operation if needed. they will also be able to answer any other questions you want to ask.
