I am in my first year of having my period, and I am 14 years old.
I had my period:
October 24
November 17
December 5
Is tat normal? Aren't you supposed to get it exactly 30 days in between each period?

My period has NEVER been normal (every 28 days). I started when I was in elementary school (fifth grade - year 1986ish) and all the way up to now (2006) I have not had a regular every 28 day period without going on birth control pills.

So do not worry if they are not every 28 days. But if you are horribly worried, talk to your mom, or the school nurse and see about possibly getting on birth control pills to regulate your period.

That is completely normal and no you are not supposed to get it exactly 30 days between each period. The body is not like an efficient machine. That's good that you are marking the dates of each period because eventually you will be able to predict when your period is coming within a week. I'm on hormonal birth control and my period still does not come on the same day every month (very close though).

Completely normal. You are just starting your menstrual cycle, so you can expect things to be a bit wonky for a while. It'll all probably start cycling regularly by the time you're out of high school, but until then, it may come early, late, or whenever it feels like it.

Also, cycles aren't that set in stone. Each woman's is different. Some have one that lasts roughly 25 days, some go as long as 36. Most fall in between, and some are further out on the bell curve. Even if you get on a very regular cycle, there may still be fluctuations due to stress, lack of sleep, change in diet, change in exercise, a butterfly flapping its wings in Taiwan, whatever. The only way to be completely regulated is to get on hormonal birth control, and even then stress or the like can overrule it. Welcome to womanhood.

When you start having your period it can be irregular as your body is adjusting to many internal things. When it does start to become regular you'll learn what your number of days in your cycle is. The average is 30 but some people have it shorter like 25 or 28 and some have it at 35 days. Don't worry you're young and your body is doing normal young woman things. If you're lucky you'll have your period further days apart. :-)

Anything between 28 to 34 days is considred normal. It may take 1 to 2 years for your periods to become regular.

Your first year is very irregular. And that's normal. Don't worry about it. Some people are even more irregular than that. Like they get their period once, then they don't get it for a year then they get it all the time and after like 2 years they become more regular.

VERY NORMAL!!!!! It will probably be pretty much like this til about 16yrs old. The normal range is usually 28-30 days, as a rule of thumb. What you are going through is quite normal for a girl your age.

Completely normal, In fact I would not be alarmed if you skipped a month all together. (unless your having sex) Which you shouldn't be doing at 14 anyways LOL.
Point is , as your body grows and matures it will sort itself out, Your just starting out though so your perfectly normal , dont worry so much! Now go find a friend and talk about cute boys ;o))

because this is your first year, your body isn't used to it, and so yes, it is normal to have an irregular period. plus, not every woman's cycle is the same length. after several months, it should regualte out, but if it stays irregular for a year or more, than go to your doctor and talk to her about it.

You're body is still working out it's natural cycle... The first several months of your period can be very irregular, but your body should work itself out. If not, talk to your doctor about birth control to regulate your cycle.
