My 6 month old daughter laughs a lot and smiles even more.( My nickname for her is smiley girl) My question is are babies born with and are able to express a full range of emotions or do they develop as the baby ages? I know this may sound a little silly but I was just woundering?

I'm sure they are born with the ability, but they learn through watching others how to express themselves. My daughter is quite giggly herself and has become more so as she has gotten older. She also is quite good at looking confused and sad and mad and scared, and bored..lol.

:)

The first few weeks their expressions are very limited, but as they age slightly they are then able to smile and coo etc etc. This is truly just from my experience though, I don't know the official answer. I can't really remember if my little one smiled or anything when she was first born, I don't think she did, I think it took like a month

Yep, and a baby has instincts too. This is a good age to teach the baby to talk....
