I am between 5 foot 1 and 5 foot 2. I have a small build. How can I make myself look older/better? make up, hair suggestions?

Most clothes I try on in the teen or womens section are all too big or long for me! What do I do? Where should I shop online? It's embarrasing going into the store. People immediately presume I am about 13 and get me to try on kids clothes. It's fully embarrasing! I'd prefer to shop online. I want a shop in America or Australia (online) which has small TEEN clothes or the equivalent.

Thanks. Advice on hair cut (it's dark brown ,long, medium coloured skin etc, brown eyes) is much appreciated.

In need help!

don't wear clothes that have anything childish written on them. Try to have writing free clothes. Wear eyeshadow, mascara, and a nice color lip stick/gloss. Don't do anything too over the top. Don't wear bangs and don't have ur hair in braids it makes u look younger. Try to wear more casual elegant clothes. Like plain black or gray pants with some nice button up shirts. My friend is 19 but looks 12 so she always dresses in businessy clothes and then people think she's 20.

I am 5' 1-1/2" and was guessed at much younger than my age for years. Trust me, you will miss it someday.

But you're right being short people automatically assume you are young, and stupid.

Though I'm older than you, I am always battling the clothing market. Most petites are for old ladies, or expensive as heck.

Kohls has some Daisy Fuentes brand petites, and her clothes are pretty hip. Old Navy online stocks quite a few petite clothes too. For more mature business wear, try Parisian or Ann Taylor (or Ann Taylor Loft) pricey but nice, I shop the sales.

Other than that meet a seamstress and buy what you want, just have her alter them. It costs $10-15 to hem a shirt and make it fit you correctly. It's a pain, but trust me, the big labels have no desire to make too many clothes for us. Write a letter to your favorite manufacturer, I do.

There are a lot of advantages to being short, so keep your chin up (makes you look taller) and be glad your not 6' 2"

ok well im 17 n like 5 foot 2 so we have something in common. I suggest u go 2 supre cos they have some pretty small sizes, n being petite is the best thing ever darl. I can suggest u just always wear a fair bit of make up n wear ur hair out. Tease it up a bit, wear big shoes. Is ur hair layered???

well as far as your clothes, you can practically go into any department store like jcpenneys, sears and they have the petite section and all it is is misses tailored for petite women. but if the clothing looks too old, then go for juniors but just don't go too trendy. stay with things that are timeless like a great pair of jeans, a crisp white button down shirt, cute sweaters stuff like that... you can kinda see whne you try on stuff wether you look more sophisticated or look like an ultra trendy teen. there's a fine line between sophisicated sheik and trendy teen when you're in that age bracket. there's pleanty of styles out there that will compliment the look that you're going for. look at cosmo or lucky magazine and just go from there.

I wish I had your problem. My ex-wife turned 50 this year and still looks a hot 15. She has her clothes made to fit the women's current styles, when she can't find a woman's correct size. For you, you need to get on line and just see what the average business woman is wearing and adjust accordingly. It may not be the ebb and flow of the teen trend, but it will put you leaps and bounds ahead of them, you might even start your own line of clothing.

You know It shouldnt really matter if you are short and petite.. because we are all made in a different way... me i am short and fat... and not afraid to admit cuzz i am not embarrassed about it and i am really petite to..... but im not sayin you are immature but if you act mature you will look alot like ur age... i am also very petite actually in science class comeone said that i am really short and that i have always been... i have learned that it dont matter if you look to young for ur age ... i mean when you are 25 and want too look younger people will think that you are 20... so there is an upside

To look older first you have to SHAPE your brows... have it waxed or tweeze it. (this helps you look mature). Have your hair cut layered, always put a little glossy lip balm or light colored lipsticks and a little blush on cheeks. Please don't wear too much dark eyeliner (like a gothic look) it will make you look like trying too hard... just make it subtle... for clothes, go to Forever 21 or Buh-Ya-kah store or they have pretty nice and cheap clothes that will really fit your taste and age. have fun.
