Just washed my new pillowcases - they're white on the top side, red on the back. Obviously couldnt separate the colours so the white side turned pink! Dont want to bleach because I'm worried I'll ruin the red side. Plus the white side has red flowers in the corner that I dont want to bleach out. Ahh - what did I do wrong and how can I fix it? Thanks in advance!

Generally, pillowcases are meant to be laundered, and these sound as if they should be cold water wash, gentle cycle, or hand wash.

If they are pillow shams, that's a different story. Sometimes shams are marked, Dry Clean Only.

But If you followed the instructions for laundering the items, and you still had problems with the colors running, I would take them back to the store for a refund or a replacement.

I don't think there is anything you can do to correct this, but a dry cleaners may be able to help. It's worth an inquiry, at least.

Good luck. I just hate to ruin something that I really love.
I think it's happened to all of us at one time or another. But believe me - you will eventually run across something you like just as well or even better!

I think you are screwed. Washing in cold water would have been correct, but I have done that myself and still had the colors run. The only other thing to do is to return them to the store and see if you can get a replacement. If the store won't do it, contact the manufacturer's customer service dept.

definitely go back to the store for a refund. In this day and age, products such as those should be color fast and not run when washed.

Try getting a bleach pen and see if that works.

I'm not sure, but I wonder if a color-safe bleach would work?
