Nope - I'm fine with more than 50 systems that I have put it on. Nothing wrong with Firefox. BUT - - - You should NOT attempt to remove IE7. I'm talking about the Microsoft version. If you used the Yahoo version, well I don't know what to tell you. Attempting to remove WILL totally hose your system.
Now - stop the games and limewire. THOSE will cause problems. IE7 will block some of the bad stuff they do. This is why is APPEARS like its an IE7 issue. It's not.

Did you have all applications and software closed before downloading the 7.0 version? Also, you must remember that the security is much higher and it blocks a lot of destructive content that could deliver harmful viruses, as well as blocks Active X content and Cookies. If you did not download it to your program files, this could be creating the problem. Your Internet software may have a corrupted file. Try clicking on Start, Accessories, System Tools, and System Restore. Then when it prompts, select a previous date on the little calander that is in bold that your computer was working much faster and smoother. If this doesn't work and if you want to allow these things, and do not care if someone steals your ID or a bad virus infects your computer, then open the windows menu bar and select tools and internet options. Then select security, and advanced, and then set your security level to the lowest that it can be set to and click on Accept. Also, If you have WindowsXP with service pack2, click on Start, Control Panel and click on the shield icon. Then click on Windows Firewall at the bottom of the window and select to shut off the firewall. These actions will allow you to play games that may screw up your computer or open it to all kinds of harmful things. Be warned.

Before you go and uninstall IE7, has your computer been recently updated by going to Windows Update?
If not, then go there update your computer and leave IE7 on your computer, and see if those errors go away. And it is weird that you cannot play games as Internet Explorer is not integrated into Windows Shell like the previous versions.
Also the reason MOST if not all firms and companies have not upgraded to IE7 is no I.T. manager in their right mind will roll out the first version of anything. It is not because it is "unsafe".
Also, have you tried scanning for spyware or viruses?
Of course you can go ahead and try Firefox, but if another system component is "screwed up", why leave it like that?
