The Gibson Les Paul's are all basically the same, except for certain particulars you might want , like a 3 pickup model or any other additions, pickgaurd vs. none , etc. Of course color is up to you. The main diff between the standard and custom model is that the custom has double binding, where a standard has single binding around the top.

I agree with Spackler, Customs are really nice. If you're on a budget, Epiphone Les Pauls are nice alternatives to Gibsons.

a gibson or try out a shecter its a great guitar alot of bands used it including avenged sevenfold, papa roach etc and it sounds sweet
