Bees reproduce both sexually and parthenogenetically. The queen bee mates with the drone and stores the sperms in her spermatheca. Then while laying eggs, she lays 2 types of eggs:-

1. Fertilized: They develop into queen (if fed with royal jelly) or workers (if fed with pollen and honey).

2. Unfertilized: They develop into drones.

The queen and the workers which are both female, contain 32 chromosomes while the drones (male) contain only 16. Workers are infertile while drones and queen are fertile.

sexually but only queens can lay eggs

The workers are sterile females. A drone is a male bee.

Asexual species are basically clones of each other since no genetic mixing takes place. A copy of the DNA is made and a new organism is conceived.

sexually. The queen of the hive is the only one who lays eggs. She mates with the male drone bees.

Asexual reproduction is like splitting in half. I think it's only one-celled things that do that, like bacteria and such.
