I'm sorry to hear about your chinchilla.
Did you get it from a pet store or a breeder? You may be able to get a replacement or your money back as it more than likely had a condition that was already existing when you got it.

Sorry to hear that. Rabbits are fragile too though. You may want a hamster...either a dwarf hamster or Syrian. Syrian hamsters (sometimes called teddybear hamsters) are the friendliest and hardly ever bite.
Hamsters are hardy animals due to the fact mostly come from desert areas. Very intelligent too...you wouldn't think by looking at them.

I'm sorry to hear about your lost. Chinchillas are good pets, but you do have to be very careful with them. Maybe try a ferret. They are very affectionate/smart and can be very sweet if you treat them right. That is if you want a pet that you can hold and play with...if you want something w/ less maintence, then try a beta fish.

Well it depends... maybe you would like to try a different pet perhaps a bird or a rabbit which are both known to be hardy and inexpensive.Or if you are willing to try again go for it.
