It is indeed an unusualy generous practice, and few countries offer it. I suppose as long as America needs more people, and as long as maintaining the practice can protect children born to people from countries with questionable practices, this wil remain a good idea. Otherwise... well, a country's legislation should have a country's best interests in mind. What those are may need to assessed every once in a while. At present, there seems to be no difficulty with this, otherwise, it would be a big issue.

Yes, it does happen to Americans in other countries. I think the US needs to stop, though. It's giving women incentive to cross the border pregnant, then show up here for free medical care.

They should do what the other country does. Mexico gives citizenship to all babies born there, and we should reciprocate..

yes i think it should stop. It may have been acceptable in the young days in the forming of the nation, but its not necessary any more. They should also abolish the wet foot/dry foot policy with the cuban immigrants.
