Can't you just disable the wireless on the Verizon one, have your internet cable going from the wall to the verizon, assign a static IP to your Netgear and have it's wireless enabled and assigning DHCP address to MAC specific network adapters throughought your house?

I mean, it probably sounds a lot easier than it actually is, but that's the basic idea.

Wall->Verizon->Netgear->OtherStuff.

You can always use both routers if you want to. I have a setup like this at home.

Make the wired router your primary one and the wireless router secondary. Plug the wireless router into the wired one. The only difference in setup between the two is that only the wired router should have DHCP enabled. Thus PCs connecting to the wireless router will get their DHCP setup from the wired router.
If the wireless router requires it, you may have to specify the wired one as the gateway.

Mine didn't require that. I just set the wired as 192.168.1.1 and the wireless as 192.168.1.2 and everything just worked.
