I check "All Categories" to find one I feel I can give the best answer to. If I don't know the answer, I will not answer it.
I don't need to check my QA because Yahoo lets me know when I have received a best answer.
Its a fun site and I stay away from things I know little about. Sometimes I click on resolved questions to learn the answers the asker picked.

"Society & Culture"... I don't specify that further, but the most interesting questions are in the religion & spirituality section... then I look at "Politics & Government" and in the "Arts & Humanities" sections I only look at history and philosophy.

I look up philosophy first. Makes me feel sort of smart (as opposed to most other categories)

I go to philosophy first. In my opinion philosophy is the foundation of most thought. Also I personally find it to be most diverse and intriguing.

Usually chemistry, as I teach chemistry.

I always go straight to Philosophy. Because you never know when a great question is going to pop up.

Philosophy. Because there really isn't a "right" answer, it's all about people's opions and how they interpret stuff. You are free to express your ideas and no one can say you are incorrect.
