If you double-click (click the left mouse button 2 times fast) on "My Documents", this will open up a special folder that comes with the computer. You cannot change it or move it or anything like that. Think of it as a file cabinet. Inside the file cabinet, you can put folders. To open any folder, simply double-click on it. To go back to the previous folder you were in, click on the "Back" button at the top of the window. It should have a left arrow next to it.

Now, to create a new folder, right-click (use your right mouse button just once). A small window will come up. This is usually the only time you will have to use the right mouse button. Click normally (left button) on "New", then again on "Folder". At this point, you are ready to give this folder a meaningful name. Just start typing on your keyboard and use the "enter" key when you are done. You can now double-click to open the new folder.

If you made a mistake, or want to change the name of a folder, right-click on the folder, and select "Rename" towards the bottom of the list. Start typing the new name. You can also delete folders this way.

Once you get used to it, its easy. Pratice creating, renaming, and deleting folders for a few minutes. If you accidentally delete something, you can always go to the "Recycle Bin" on your desktop by double-clicking on it. All files that you delete go here. Right-click and select "Restore" to put it back where it was before you deleted it.

To close any folder, including "My Documents" and "Recycle Bin", click on the red "X" in the upper-right corner of the window.

Folders are where you put files like digital photos of the family and notes that are sent to you...but that's another question and answer...GOOD LUCK!

You want a specific folder?
Or want to make a new folder?
To make a new folder, right click a blank space on your screen, select New>Folder.
To access a specific folder, double click My Computer, double click the C drive (hard disk), then double click whatever folder it is you want.
OR click start>search>for files & folders
then type in the folder name.
