Well good rock music involves some musicianship and compositional skills, whereas hip hop and rap are simply done by "beat producers" who use some crappy drummachine samples and recite words at high speeds. It doesn't take talent to rhyme lyrics together quickly, and even Weird Al can do that far better than most rappers I've heard. Just listen to the bridge part of "The Hardware Store".
Hip hop and rap are also notoriously monotonous, while rock has evolved and continues to evolve all the time. You certainly don't hear meter changes or tempo changes or key changes in much rap or hip hop. You never really hear instruments that aren't sequenced in a computer program. But nobody ever said pop music was hard to create... yes rap and hip hop are pop music. Same damn thing.
So I say it's no contest - rock wins by a landslide. I'm sure I'll get negative feedback from this, but I don't care. Lots of people hate to hear the truth when it rains on their parade.

i in my view think of they have the two strayed from their roots, even the real hip hoppers and real rockers. because of the fact all of them purely sound the same now, purely like the greater commercial ones. equipment of a Down is taken under consideration one of the few bands I nonetheless admire because of the fact their sound is often distinctive and their lyrics are not dumbed down...they make you think of and are left open to interpretation. different than...they are on hiatus dazzling now lol so i don't understand in the event that they nonetheless count variety. yet then, i think i pass with rock! Cream is cool, too...they have a very good drummer. i don't pay attention to hip hop lots anymore, the two...rattling 50 cent gets on my nerves!

Well i like all but country. Only problem is since im halfway black i have to keep up with gangsta rap even though i hate it. I like hip hop and there is a difference betweed hip hop and gangsta rap. I have to keep up so i can fit in. You know?

why does it have to be one vs the other? its all good.
i like them both but i prefer hip hop/rap.
the new rock kinda sucks i like rock from the past 7 years and some old stuff.
