If I bought from an online site a certain item that was much cheaper than it was selling on Ebay, would it be ethical to sell that item on Ebay for a profit? The only reason I ask is because it seems to me the only reason I would make money is by the buyer's ignorance. I could simply tell the buyer where to buy the product for a much cheaper price.

This really isn't unethical. You're projecting your thoughts about the price of the item into the person that your bought it from.

Maybe the eBay buyer you will sell the product to thinks the product is worth the higher amount. If it was much cheaper, the buyer may think it's a low quality product, and will bid on a similar item for a higher price.

Also, most people on eBay know they are buying items that are less expensive than usual. If you know of a source to buy an item for even less than a fair eBay price, then that's more of a testament to your own ingenuity than your willingness to take advantage of someone's ignorance.

Consider the extra amount that you get from reselling the item as your premium for doing the research to find the site that has the cheaper price. Your buyers may not have the time or inclination to research a lower price, and they will offer you a higher price for the same item because you did the research for them.

Yes that is fine, but don't use the photo or description from the website. Those are that companies copywrited property & using them would be theft.

thats how commerce works, you buy something cheap, then mark up the price and sell it on, so long as you describe it accurately and dont sell fakes etc, then its fine
