A gift basket with a cute theme, like singing, dancing, or vintage stuff would be great! She probably would like a spa basket with lotion, shower stuff, bath stuff, nail polish, etc.
The dollar store has a lot of stuff you could put in a basket. I got my friend a spa basket - the whole thing only cost about $8! I put some shower gel, body scrub, bath oil beads, one of those poofy shower things for soap and stuff, a picture frame, and a lot of candy canes around the edges to make it look cute. Some other things you could put in there would be body butter, perfume, body lotion, a gift card, nail polish, makeup, and just about anything else she would like.
A gift basket shows that you actually took the time to pick everything out rather than just grabbing one thing off a store shelf.

If your willing to spend around $80, you could get her an Ipod shuffle. You can also try getting her a couple of Cd's by her favorite Music artists. If she has a PlayStation 2, you could get her a Dance Dance Revolution game and pad. If she likes guitars, you can get her that game called Guitar Hero. You can also get her a customized bear from Build a Bear workshop. Lots of girls love teddy bears. I'm out of ideas at the moment, so I hope this helps.

Maybe get her cute earrings, that represent an inside joke, or burn her a cd, or lip gloss, like juicy tubes by lancome, or something like that- just a lot of small cute things, and put them into a cute bag, and fill the rest of the bag with a type of candy that she likes.
Or you could stuff it into a small stocking.

get her clothes. go to nordtrom rack. they have really cool vintage, funky clothing. i got this kick-*** shirt there.
