In order to breakdance, (or any dance for that matter) you need serious core muscles (stomach and back) . But you also need to have a really strong upper body. If you can't support your whole body weight with your arms, its going to be very difficult to breakdance. But in order to support your weight, you need to have a strong core... it definitely goes hand in hand. i would do workouts using your body as resistance instead of lifting weights, because then you work the entire muscle instead of just the outside which is what happens when you lift weights. Lifting helps you gain muscle, but it won;t be as usable for break dancing. So i would suggest pushups, sit-ups (not just crunches- other stomach exercises as well), planks, and shoulder exercises.

In breakdancing all of your movement comes from your core, so be sure to do crunches to get your abs stronger. =]

Also practice basics like handstands and shoulder stands to get work on your ballance.

Push ups will help you out with your arm and shoulder strength.

Good luck!
