There Was a Time Ann Met a Pie Man

Ann is offered a part in a comedy vignette show that sounds fabulous at first. She is to play a wealthy, beautiful woman who is dressed in an elegant black gown and covered in a quarter of a million dollars in diamonds from Cartier's. She is to walk down a 40 step staircase very slowly and then pause demurely. Wow. But the catch is - when she gets to the bottom, they hit her with a pie! Ann cannot decide if she wants to do it, but the $500 paycheck convinces her. Afterwards, she is so embarrassed she's wearing dark glasses even in her apartment. It seems everyone she knows has seen the skit, including her father (who's also wearing smoked shades), so when producer Hal Grissom wants to make the skit a continuing gag, she feels she MUST decline - until she discovers they now want big stars to do it - like Julie Andrews and Audrey Hepburn. Jesse White appears once again in yet another part as Hal Grissom. Also appearing are Renata Vanni as Mrs. Brentano, Gene Baylos as Mort, and Lea Marmer as her wardrobe lady.
