I'm a 25 year old male in Britain who has just moved to a new town. I don't know anyone in the area so I thought I would join a club of some sort, or an evening class, or something which allows me to meet people who are mainly my age. Trouble is I can't think of what interests me. Any ideas of what I could join? This means a lot to me so I would really appreciate all of your help! Thanks!!

Gym, erm...go to a mosque maybe:) hmm maybe the evening class ideas would be a good thing, do something you are interested in though, I can't tell you what you should do, pick something that interests you....Oh hold on i just read your thing again, and you clearly said "I can't think of what interests me" lol. Ok then, let me think. Erm... well if you go to a college just look at the courses. Maybe you're interested in art? or drama or something?? I think gym is a good idea though. People in my gym were friendly. Hope I helped.

You could join a golf players club. A bridge club. A monkey training society. A Stan Laurel look-alike club. The Doctor Who Society. You could learn Spanish, or sign language. You could join the Wigan Amateur Dramatics society (if you live in Wigan). Or friends of Harrogate theatre (if you live in Harrogate). Or become a morris dancer.

I'm 30 miles from London and the same age I would suggest looking in your local newspaper advertising local activities that may interest you.

well, a good place to start is at work, but failing that, and maybe its not always best to only have work friends, do an academic course in something you enjoy....you'll meet like minded people you can chat to, and you'll have a subject to talk about already....then there are the regular clubs (dancing, chess)...good luck, bud, and if you fancy a pint send me a mail!

No matter where you go , ( to any public establishment ) your going to meet others, obviously thats your intent. I personally have been in that scenario numerous times in my life which includes european locations and you just have to find that common thread even if its meeting people because I enjoy talking to people I havent met and hearing their experiences so there are other "PEOPLE SEARCHERS" out there!
