Get her a bigger litter box to start as she is not a kitten any longer. She may have a bladder infection and peeing in the wrong places may be her way of trying to show you something is not right, take her to the vet with a urine sample to find out if its a health issue or a mental issue. Cats do not need to be litter trained they just need to know where the litter box has been placed and some like it cleaned daily.

First make sure that your son does not wet the bed himself, any sent of urine, will attract the cat to also urinate, in the same spot. Also, what do u mean by a kitten size litter box? You need a full size litter box, your cat might feel too cramped to use the small one. And finally, once a cat as urinated, it is extremely difficult to remove all scent of urine, no matter what u do. the cat will contiue to use that spot. better to throw old bedding out and start new. If mattress itself has been urinated on, cover mattress with plastic matress cover. Im sure all of this will remedy the problem.

My sis's answer, she's had cats since she was 5 & she's 14 now. "Cats have weird desires when it comes to urinating. I had several cats that would sniff & feel the texture of a certain area & then try to pee on it. Ex. ash, beds like you, even in the bathtub loll... Your cat isn't too old so it'll take her a while to get used to the litter box. Maybe try squirting her w/ a water gun whenever she tries to get on the bed. Maybe you shouldn't let her go on the bed @ all. She'll get the pt by the water gun that she's not allowed on the bed. Hope this helps !!!"

Not sure what would have caused it the first time. But if the urine smell is in the mattress... your almost out of luck. Animals can almost always find that same spot again and they will potty there again and again and again. I would try getting it out the best you could and also make sure the litter box is clean, cats are VERY clean animals and do not like dirty litter pans.

Do's your son still wet the bed, if so Thar's not much you can do about it. if not clean the mattress or have it cleaned. the cat is smelling pee and thinks it ok to go there. get rid of the smell,( you may not smell it ) then show the cat it's litter box again this should salve your problem.

Cats DONOT need to be trained to use a litter box!
they do it instinctively!

shoe them a box, and they will go to it, keep it clean, wipe down the sides daily, scoop out messy daily.
The scooping litter is the best, no waste of litter, and it keeps the box fresh.

well if you did not potty trai the cat that might be the reason or the cat might not like the litter box but likes a nice soft bed to pee on. my 1 year old dog istead of peeing on the bed he pees on the sofa.
