It is simply his male ego. Tom Cruise is seen as an international superstar and he wants himself to feel more manlike on his wedding day. He wants to be in control basically. Although it may seem very superficial and sexist, most men think this way (not all). Tom Cruise as seen is a control freak at points and because we knoww how he is we kno he has an ego that shows he has to be represented as the more dominant of the family.

I guess just for esthtic purposes, typically the man is taller. Hmmmm, you'd think with all the money he's sunk into scientology they could have found a way to stretch him a few inches or shrunk her a couple. Maybe they just need to do a little more publicity for their celebrity centre and then they'll find the magic cure for shortness.

because he is a tiny little man...but he makes millions of dollars making movies where he portrays an alpha male.. Appearing short to his fans may hurt his image....
