I just stopped taking the pill about three days ago. I was hoping to maybe get pregnant right away. Now I have started bleeding. I read that this may be "implanation bleeding", whatever that is. Does anyone have any experience with this? Is is possible to get pregnant that quickly? Or do I need to wait until after Ive had a normal period? Or do you even ovulate that soon after getting off the pill? Ive never gone through this before! Please advise!

You should try waiting at least until you've had a regular period.

Doctors recommend at least 6 months actually for complete safety for the babys health.

Any time you stop taking the pill, you're likely to have bleeding unless you are pregnant. In any event, implantation bleeding averages 9 days after conception. Sorry to say it doesn't sound like you're pregnant.

However, it IS possible to get pregnant right away. I missed ONE pill and have a two year old son. I believe the average is about three cycles to start ovulating again, but some people can take up to a year.

Most likely this is your period. I went off the pill and three days later I started bleeding. Most likely you haven't ovulated yet. Though I did buy an ovulation kit and started testing after my period. I found I ovulated 4 days afterwards.

It took us a month to get pregnant. I went off the pill Aug. 29th and we got pregnant at the end of September.

Though...just so you know.....Doctors tell you it is best to wait a few months after going off the pill before you start tyring because of the risk of miscarriage.

I have had a lot of bleeding troubles since getting pregnant. The baby is fine and healthy...but it's just really scary....and though I've never been told...I think it may be because I didn't wait long enough to get the pill out of my system.

It can take up to a year to get pregnant. If you just stopped your pills 3 days age, you are haveing a period. I don't know if you stopped in the middle of your pill pack or not, but if you did, then it will take longer for your body to get back into a normal cycle. If you don't understand how your body works, you are probably not ready to have a baby. You will ovulate about 1/2 way through your cycle. You can get an ovulation test at the drug store, just follow the directions it will tell you the days you are most likely to get pregnant.

well i never got pregnant though i was trying for two years but after being on the pill for only 3 months and then stopping i got preggers within a month or even less...so i say its a very good chance you get pregnant after stopping the pill then when youre not on it..about the implantation bleeding, ive never experienced such thing while preggers, but i do know tht you can still get your period while youre pregnant..

wow. don't rush things. it may take up to a year for your body to get back into it's normal cycle. if you're taking a multi-hormonal pill, ususally it makes your body think that you're pregnant, then not... if you're taking this kind, then you have a good chance of getting pregnant soon. if you're taking a mono-hormonal pill, ie. yasmin, depo-provera, it will take much longer, and your body will have to re-train itself.

you might get pregnant soon, you might not. when it is time, it will happen. but give it some time, and your body will be back to normal. use protection until then, weather a condom, or a diaphram, simply because you don't want to chance getting any kinds of disease. Also, the eggs that you relase soon might have problems because of the hormones, but i wouldn't chance it. I've had 2 miscarriages after taking birth control, and the doc told me it was probably because of the birth control.

good luck!!!

all i know is that it was a month after i stopped taking the pill that i got pregnant...it takes time to get that stuff out of your system..

something else...how do you think it's so easy for teens to get pregnant? it's because they're not even trying...the more u think about it, actually decreases your chances because it puts a level stress on you...the more u do it, the less chances u'll get pregnant...my advice would be to just do it when u guys feel romantic and horny...do it because you want to enjoy the sex...if you think, "oh, i have to do it now b/c i gotta get pregnant" it's just gonna take longer...trust me, enjoy your sex now b/c your drive is going to go waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay down after u have a baby...

before long, you're going to be getting up every 2 hrs and wondering, "what did i get myself into?" LOL...so don't stress and just enjoy yourselves and before u know, you'll be puking your guts out... :)

When my hubby and I wanted to get pregnant for the first time, the doctor suggested to wait for my periods to be normal and keep track of them on the calender. Hope this helps.

i got pregnant the 2nd month off! i had one normal period and then i got pregnant! just have patience and good timing... its a good idea to wait... but if depends on how long you have been on b.c. (i was only on for 3 months) but just give your body time to start ovulating reguarly.
