Research online, in the library, and by conducting interviews with professionals. Visit exhibits, etc. Be sure to record all the works cited info you need as you go along, even if you aren't sure that you'll use the information you found in that source. Turn your notes (along with the accompanying citations) into notecards (one fact, qoute, idea, etc. per card).
Group the cards in different ways (such as by type of info, chronoiogical order, or what the info proves in your paper). By doing this, you will see where the bulk of your info is (which will be a combo of the bulk of what you found and the bulk of what you found interesting). Now take these groups and decide what to write your paper on. Put the groups in order (and also the cards within each group) and then create rough outlines until you're satisfied. Make sure you then go back and reorder the cards and groups to match the final outline.
Then, write your paper by copying, quoting, or rephrasing the info on the cards, along with citations, making sure to throw in some filler sentences to tie everything together. Be sure to state your purpose at the end of your first paragraph and to end with a witty remark (or a good quote). Proofread and rewrite at least once. Now, slap a title on it and you're done!
P.S.-Don't forget to save on both a floppy and your hard drive! And DON'T wait until the last minute to print. Be sure to print this thing 2 nights before.

Research, some more research, and then finish that with even more research. Then, write yourself about 3-4 drafts, before you write the final draft
And write in crayon, most professors have a good sense of humor
