Why are you not allowed to point out that these people would be doing much better if they it weren't for their drug habits, mostly (alcohol and cigarettes, if not worse, like meth) and bad money management? The conservatives are right about this. I've seen first hand how they waste their money, smoke in the house with children, sometimes even asthmatic children...
How can you say people don't deserve to be poor when they have free will to spend their money as they please?

Reading comprehension is not your strong suit. Go back to school, and take on my questions when you learn to read in English and understand with a mature and informed mind.

Does everyone really have to be drugged up??? What a world we are coming to..

Benjamin: another simp..... READ the question! It did not say that liberals were those guilty of smoking and doing drugs! READ the question.... I can't understand why you people can't figure this question out, it must be because you are so ill informed and not very worldly wise, or just bad reading comprehension.
Perhaps you all have this self-righteous indignation that the poor do nothing wrong to get themselves where they are and it is like a mental block to you.

The liberals, if I am correct, believe in individualism, which means that anybody can do as they please and people have the right to be as they wish. I may be wrong be if I am right my answer goes as follows,
You cannot say what the poor spend their money on because they have the right to be themselves and thus spend their money how they please and when they please. Look at individualism and liberalism and im sure you will find your answer. It may be in your opinion that these people will do better without drugs or whatever but you cannot say that to someone who believes that everybody and anybody has the right to be themselves and do as they please. Perhaps you can now see the faults in individualism and liberalism that so many others see. It concludes however with you making your own mind up about these matters and deciding "do you have the right to tell poor people to waste money on drugs?"

Some poor people waste what little money they have. I'd say the odds are against some poor people ever becoming significantly richer, though. George W. Bush told one of his MBA lecturers, "Poor people are poor because they're lazy."
To him I would pass on what Sir Michael Caine ("Austin Powers' dad" to those not in the know) said of his own father: "When he died, he left nothing. I noticed receipts for the repeated hire of a radio. He never had enough money to buy a radio, so he had to keep hiring one, year after year. If you add those months up, he could've _bought_ several radios."
You'll have heard of the "poverty trap" and the above is an example of that. Even if Sir Michael's dad was not technically classified as living in poverty, the above could be termed a "lack of money trap". I am 23 and inherited quite a lot of money age 20. I don't need to take out a mortgage to buy a house. Mortgages are perhaps something of a middle-class "lack of money trap". You want to buy a $200,000 property, but don't have that much money, so take out a mortgage and pay it over the next 30 years. Look at the amortization schedule, and you'll find you've paid something like $350,000 back.

You must be having a laugh here, misses. I hope you are because the ignorance, stupidity and lack of empathy you're demonstrating is rather frightening.
You're complaining about your so called "right to judge". What kind of judgement over people can be made without looking a little deeper into the causes of social ills, not just the effects? A very blind one, I'd say.
If you don't want to be berated by "liberal minded people" for your simple observations and conclusions (anyone can see drug abuse does nobody any good, whether they are rich or poor) then I suggest you educate yourself a little. Perhaps then if you're still arguing the same case it may hold a little water, but I doubt it.

So, lets see, it's only liberals that do drugs, smoke, drink, do meth, etc. And its only liberals that are poor. Are those your conclusions? That we liberals think that all that is just peachy? I think you need to stop listening to Rush and Hannity and go outside and see what the world is really like, cause sweetheart, it's in all walks of life. My brother, a very proud conservative is an alcoholic who gets plastered in front of his little girls, his wife is out cutting wood and such so that she can help out with the bills that his check doesn't cover because he's spending at the bar. I, a liberal, on the other hand, never drink, never do drugs, I work and I have fostered 3 children whos REPUBLICAN alcoholic parents didn't want them. So back off, you don't have an effing clue.
My, aren't we volatile? I did answer your question, why don't you try reading? I realize that listening to those who tell you what you want to hear is easier but you really don't learn anything that way do you? Of course thats not a conservatives strong point, listening to others. You are JUDGING all LIBERALS on WHAT? That we Don't Judge Others? Oh, my aren't we just biblical in that way. But wait, aren't we all godless barbarians.....hmmm, can't have it both ways can we?

I completely agree that some people feel the need to tell us that we have no right to judge them, but it is not just the liberal minded...
One day, some guy sitting on the street corner was begging for money, so we thought, instead of feeding his smoking habit and having him waste his money, we will buy him a meal deal from Greggs. When we came back we gave it to him and he merely grunted.
We went into another shop only to return 10 minutes later and the food was still there but the guy was gone... Ungrateful ****!
So don't preach to me and tell me that these people should be given money when they are out on the street sleeping rough.
Yes everyone has a choice... and mine is not to indulge in their bad habits!

If your talking about the question you asked earlier than you need to reread the question. You asked if you smoke a pack a day and drink a twelve pack a week do you deserve to be poor? What you ask now is completely differant. Try try again cause you don't make any sense...
Here's YOUR question!!
"" If you smoke a pack a day and drink a case of beer a week, do you deserve to be poor? ""
Guess what "TARD"!!! I smoke almost a pack a day. And I like to have fun on the weekends and drink! So you think I deserve to be poor? I work damn hard for my money so I'll do whatever I want with it. You really need to start thinking these questions out a little more. Your doing the name calling, it should be the other way around..

Why would poor people be more to blame than rich people for taking drugs? Taking mind altering drugs is destructive to everyone, and I feel sorry for anyone who feels it is a need.
But I must say that if most of my life was spent in a ghetto, with little to eat, no hope for the future, and ugliness all around me, I would feel the need to "escape" by any means.
What are the wealthy and the "elite" escaping from? Their penthouse overlooking Central Park? Their next planned vacation to Aruba? The next black tie party?
Grow up. Your heart is either very young and misguided or very black and lost

I absolutely don't like people spending their money on drugs or other counterproductive things. All you're saying about bad choices applies not only to the poor but to many others who choose to spend their money on drugs, tobacco, gambling, etc. However, you can't save people from themselves as so many conservatives seem determined to try to do. You can't legislate common sense and responsibility. Yours is a case of not seeing the forest for the trees.

I definitely agree with your assertion that people who make bad decision should bare all the shortcomings that come with it. I should not be looked down on for giving them what they deserve. They made their mind up that they want to live like junkies and lie on the road with trash, so why can't I point that out to them. Because it hurts their feelings? They hurt mine when they expect all the good American citizens to "help" them by begging for money to buy more drugs with or they claim that society put them there.

I understand your point , but you really left yourself open to the outrage from those that think that we are here to pay there bills , And support their stupidity , and didn't you know that the liberals would seek you out and lambaste you for protesting about their generosity with our money that we work so dam hard for. And for any of you idiots who wish to vent your spleen on me don't bother i never return to a question i have replied to
