As above, no port, no go. And even if you do have a USB port, Windows 98 does not support the much newer USB 2.0, so you would also have to download and install USB 2.0 drivers. But if you can find a port in your laptop, and if you can get somebody to put the USB 2.0 drivers on a media that your laptop takes, then you can do USB drives.

i beleive you're talking about a usb drive... or a flash drive. a usb drive or jack will be flat and approximately 3/4" X 1/4" and will only plug in one way. most laptops, have a plastic door on the back where you can plug mice, external monitors, external keyboards ext....

if you have a windows 98 laptop, you might not have a usb port that is compatible to your flash drive. most flash drives are backward compatible to a 1.0 usb port (older style, and a little slower) but work best on a 2.0 port.

hopefully that will help, if not good luck!!

Unfortunately if there is nowhere to plug it in then you are out of luck. Windows 98 has issues with USB devices at times anyway.

USB card are available in the market easily for desktops. For the laptop, you might have to check whether PCMCIA cads for USB are available or not since such cards are history now.

If your computer doesn't have a USB Port, you'll need to use a PCMCIA adapter to add a USB Slot.
