That is what some people believe. Sir George Martin states that The Beatles were getting tired of being together, and wanted to start their families, spending more time with them, etc.
(Of course, it didn't help matters when John had Yoko attached to his hip, and she kept putting in her opinion all the time!)
I think it was a combination of both.

No, she wasn't. It was more than likely Paul who created the major problems but officially, it was John Lennon who "pulled the pin" on the band that he'd created which was formerly The Quarrymen. The link below gives you a good insight into The Beatles.

No, Paul was. He wanted to go off on his own. He didn't get along with John anymore, so he went on his own. That was the cause.
