From what I have read, there is nothing you can do about mushrooms. Kinda stinks. Yes, the moisture is the culprit.

Mushrooms in lawns are the fruiting bodies of fungi. They are feeding on decomposing organic matter in the soil. With time, they will complete their decomposition and go away. Since the fungus is throughout the lawn, there are no fungicides recommended for their control. It is in fact very common throughout California in the fall. More info found at link provided.

I live in Wisconsin, and this past summer I had mushrooms in my yard due to too much rain. When the sun finally come back out, they dried up. So I didn't do anything about them, but you might want to check with your local nursery for help. Good luck.....

They aren't doing any harm, won't stay long, and probably improving your soil. PLEASE do not dump a bunch of chemicals on them!!! If you absolutely can't stand to do nothing, try some club soda poured directly over them.
