Ok...so, this is something that always happens to me. People always guess I'm 4 to 5 sizes smaller in clothing that I actually am. I don't want to correct them because it's flattering, lol.

Normally, it's fine, but with the holidays coming I sometimes get clothing items for gifts that are far too small. I'm too embarrased to say anything because of this always happening I feel insecure to call attention to my body size.

I'm not fat...and apparently I don't appear fat...but I know girls who appear overweight(near my height, I'm 5'4) and viewed as such that wear smaller sizes.

What the hell is going on here???

The thing is, I say nothing and clothes sit in my closet unworn until I eventually clean out my closet for donations. So , it's never really a loss because the clothes eventually go to use.

Don't complain. Just return the item, and buy one in your size, and tell the gifter that you liked the other colour better (or it went better with your skin tone). So you have still accepted a gift of clothing from that person, but have "customized" it to suit you (which a lot of other women do anyway!). They needn't know that part of that customization included an increase in size.

You probably don't look as large as you are, because you wear flattering clothes that don't follow your shape closely, but only hint at it. Tight clothing will make even very thin girls look bigger. The very worst "look" I have seen this year, was a small (probably size 0) teenager wearing a pair of skinny jeans that were so tight, it made her thighs look like sausage casings packed too tight with lots of horizontal stress lines across the back of the thighs. And big clothing just looks sloppy on everyone.

that happens to me too sometimes... well there's this girl i know and she is liek 2-4 sizes smaller than me..but eveyrone thinks we are the same size! it's so weird.... it's all about how the weight is distributed on ur body, and therefore it must be flattering on your body type, like hits the right places kinda thing! :) that's great. if it is the wrong size u can always exchange it.. hopefully they bought it at places u know and give u gift receipts. if not, then if they ask u can always politely tell them size whatever, more likely than not they'll go "OMG, no way u look so skinny!"

Just be honest trust me you will be more flattered to know how good you look in your size. I hate when women lie about there sizes. Its nothing but a number as long you are healthy and not completely out of shape don't worry bout it. If you just cant bring your self to tell them your size then just ask them not to get you clothes because your weight has been fluctuating. That one might work too(lol). Good luck!

Well, your right that probably is flattering haha. But you shouldnt be embarrassed becuse I would rather people think that I am skinnier than I am than fatter that I really am. So at least the clothes are too small rather than too big. You wouldnt want people seeing you as bigger that you really are. But nobody (hopefully) will judge you on this. Its a common mistake!

You are probably very proportionate in your body size. You are probably an hourglass shape. (that's good by the way).

You are 5 foot 4 so you are a good height for a girl so you appear very slim! I'm not sure what to tell everyone.

What size are you in US or Australian? Are you in America?

Tell people the truth when you get something too small. Be polite and they'll most likely understand.
