1.If you don't wear what you want to wear you do not get to show how you might feel that day or being able to express yourself in anyway.
2.You will be able to add your own accsecories to it if you have your clothing.
3.Your clothing reflects who you are and if you where the school uniform you will look like everyone else in the whole school so noone will know you as an individual they will think you are like everyone else in the school.
So that is a good reason why school uniforms are not nessesary to wear.

1. If you're someone who moves around a lot... buying school uniforms all the time can be very costly
2. They do not allow you to express your individuality
3. They sometimes do not accomodate the weather extremes... e.g. they do not provide enough warmth on exceptionally cold days and are too thick on hot days. If you could wear what you wanted, you would be able to adjust your outfit to suit the weather.

I side more with uniforms, but one of my best friends doesn't. Her reasons usually are:
1. Expressing individuality. You're judged -- and chosen by your friends -- by what you look like/what you wear.
2. It helps tell twins apart *giggle*
3. A nice way for students to start conversation. "Nice shirt," is a common phrase used by someone who's interested in someone else, and wants to get to know them.
Mostly social reasons...my logic leans toward uniforms more.

i hate to say it, but most of these people seem to be against it because it doesnt allow "freedom of expression", or "individuality". Well, you know what, kids in school dont, or shouldnt, have any such rights, they are there to be taught, and to learn. If they want freedom of expression and to be individuals they are welcome to drop out and get jobs at mcdonalds or do whatever they want.

Freedom of expression...helps youth to develop their own identity.
Helps them not to be a target of criticism from others.
Can be very expensive...depends upon the school.
