I use an IBM T60 model 2623-DAU. The Dell seems to have better spec's if you purchase a new one. However, you should consider at least a 15" screen. Go for a D820 instead.

Here are the product specs for a few Dell D620's"

In regards to connecting your camcorder to the computer you'll want to make sure it can connect through either a USB or firewire port on the laptop. In addition, if you use firewire (IEEE 1394) you'll want to make sure the laptop comes with it. The T60's should.

Most DV cams offer a firewire cable.
