Fairfield is an upper class suburban nightmare. It may be a little less uptight than the neighboring towns of Easton, Weston and Westport but it's still all about money, prep schools and country clubs. It's probably very enjoyable for a rich person who's over 45 or 50 or if you're looking for a 'nice' place to raise a family. It really is the stereotypical rich preppy Connecticut town. Most of my time there was spent around age 17-19 and it was not fun for me. Parts of the town are very pretty and you can find everything you need there but the best part was it's somewhat close to NYC. My Washington DC experience was mostly in the town of Great Falls, VA which reminded me a lot of Fairfield County but less populated so I can't really compare the two.

I stay in DC and on occasion desire I lived in NYC. transport: DC Metro certainly opened in 1976 with an exceedingly constrained line, which has on the grounds that greater beneficial to 5 strains in a stupid hub-and-spoke equipment. There truly are no longer any strains that pass suburb to suburb without going into DC. because of the fact there have been not greater tracks geared up, if there is upkeep being accomplished or an emergency, it potential single-monitoring, which reasons delays. The NYC subway runs 24 hours an afternoon and has greater tracks with which to pass difficulty factors, at an identical time as Metro has to close down for upkeep because of the fact it would not. NYC subway is dirtier, yet then that's over one hundred years old. Metro's huge benefit is the flashing lights furnishings on the platform edges that make it easier to recognize a practice is coming and the somewhat new indicators that time out how long one has to anticipate a practice. It additionally has escalators in each station, truly a need pondering how deep various the stations are. On DC Metro, however, you sometimes could desire to apply 2 or 3 escalators in simple terms to get to one practice and yet another 2 or 3 to go out the station. In NYC, it style of feels the doorways frequently open on the fantastic area of the practice, so which you're able to desire to pass to a particular platform. In DC, most of the stations are designed so the doorways open on the left. NYC is a flat fare to journey, at an identical time as Metro relies by employing distance and time of day traveled (greater high priced throughout the weekday rush hours). Metro stations have been designed to deter crime with few places for miscreants to conceal. Metro additionally would not enable consuming and consuming on trains or in stations. NYC has greater valuable eating places in my opinion, yet i do no longer pass hungry in DC. NYC is likewise greater high priced to stay. DC expenditures 10 p.c. tax for eating place nutrition, at an identical time as NYC expenditures much less (i'm uncertain of the share). DC is truthfully cleanser.

For DC, do you mean in the District itself? Do you own a car or use public transport? How far from work? You can find liberal and night-life where ever you live. You just have to look for it and ignore stereotypes.
