I have a 12 year old girl. She is into science fiction...fantasy..dragons..stuff like that.
Her fav. bands are- Adam Ant, Devo, Collide, Gorrilaz
she likes reading books and things like that.
Any Advice? The spending limit is $8-$10
See, I would want to give her a gift card to like Borders or Barnes and Noble because she is into books..but I want to know what you think too!! Thank You!!*Winner will be picked as best answer*

They have some very awesome books at the stores right now about wizards and dragons. I would forgo the giftcard and get the book. Kids especially like having the gift not having to go get it themselves..... Plus you never know if she has a way to go get it or if she'll even get to use it. The ones I am talking about look like:

To find them do a search for:Dragonology: The Complete Book of Dragons or Wizardology: The Book of the Secrets of Merlin. I know Barnes has them for about $12 which is a bit over the limit, but you may be able to find them cheaper.

Ok i love science too! i say go out to the bookstore and take a look like at chapters or indigo they have all kinds of kool books on sale. also, making a CD is a cheap gift and if you know what she all likes then that is one idea. even how to draw fantasy would be cool! or a statue of a dragon? there everywhere! posters of fantasy stuff is another idea! hey if i were a kid these would be cool to get! WOW! A 12 year old into Adam Ant! That's so cool...makes me feel old though. Anyway, how about searching eBay for some old Adam Ant stuff...buttons for her jacket, posters, wall tapestries, concert programs, etc... I sold all mine on eBay or else I'd send them to you.
Another idea...go to www.giftcertificates.com There you can purchase a gift certificate that she can use at hundreds of stores...her choice!

Lol. I'm having secret santa too, except I dunt knoe who i have since my class didn't pick out names out of a hat yet. You could get her a book on dragons, or anything like a necklace or jewlry that has something to do with a dragon. I'm getting a jewlry box for my BFF. I spent 2 dollars for a plain wooden box, and painted on it. It turned out gorgeous, and it didnt cost much :D You could also get her something that suggests fantasy - maybe a notepad or something... cute... with a fairy on it?
