Only if you are declared immancipated by a court. Talk to a family lay attorney. Usually a consult is free.

I you live in the US (I have no clue about other countries)…

No, you don’t get to choose. When you turn 18 you can choose. Until then your parent or guardian or the court decides where you live. If your other grandparent petitions for custody/guardianship, then the court will consider your wishes, but they consider many other things too and they do not have to abide by your wishes.

For all those mentioning emancipation, obviously they don’t understand the purpose and requirements for emancipation. In a situation such as the poster has described, emancipation is NOT an option. This is a custody/guardianship issue, not an emancipation issue.

Yes you sure can. It's all in the "power of attourney". That's what it is called when your parent/guardian gives legal permission to another family member or family friend to make decisions for you that you are unable to make as a minor. Or if you're just wanting to get out from under your parent's wing...get Imancipated. To do either you have to do it through a court...but it's pretty easy...and then you're basically considered a legal adult after you do it. But be careful..there is no going back afterwards

If your other grandparent gets legal guardianship of you you can. I think you can choose. I know at 14 kids can choose which parent they live with if their parents are divorced.

You do have some say as to who you live with; however, the ultimate decision will be with the courts, unfortunately.
