First of all, get the dog into a room where there is very good light. Examine him from head to foot and find out the source of that blood. Three drops isn't much. But is he bleeding more? He is licking what? The floor? His leg? His butt? You have to give him a thorough examiantion so that you can CALL the vet and get his advice. Figure out if he is vomiting or not. You HAVE to know that information. When you know where the blood is coming from (or if you can find NO PLACE HE IS BLEEDING, check inside his mouth, if he will let you. Maybe he lost a tooth. Sounds like he doesn't feel well, but a vet may be able to help you over the telephone. You just have to have answers to most of the vet's questions. I hope he will be OK, and y our mom gets better fast, too.

Because when you hemorrhage you are internally bleeding thus meaning loss of blood which causes the pressure to drop. Like a hole in a ballon is a good analogy of it.

Simply put, you lose any large amount of blood, there's less to pump around inside, the less pressure there is in the vessals and veins.
Tire loses air with a puncture, tire pressure goes down, same principle.

Blood pressure is determined by how hard (or not hard) your heart is pumping blood throughout your body. If you have a hemorrhage then you have less blood in your body-thus less blood for your heart to pump!

ok.. imagine a hose with pressured air flowing through it.. now imagine that suddenly there is a hole in the line, instead of creating pressure the air, like blood, will find the easiest way out which would be through the hole, it will greatly reduce the amount of pressure, and the amount of air, that is going through the lines.
