Or you better put him in a greenhouse until you can keep a better eye on the mongrel.

While some specific advice would depend upon what chia pet you have, in general negative and positive reinforcement works with all varieties. Mostly behavior modification may be acheived with encouraging/discouraging words and tone of voice.

Each time your chia misbehaves take it to the "scene of the crime" while chastistize it. It works best to do this as soon after the offense as possible as the chia has a short memory and might not be able to make the connection between what it has done in the past and the conversation you are having in the present.

In dire situation you might consider a more radical approach of utilizing water and sunlight as rewards for good behavior. Additionally the threat of salad dressing and comments of openess to experimenation with various flora and fauna as salad addetives may be necessary.

However, remember to be firm and willing to carry through with any threats. If the chia senses weakness all will be lost. If you feel you are loosing control as a last resort, you might also check e-bay for deceased chias to bring home and hide in your closet in a box. Upon being challenged by a defiant chia, bring out the box and exclaim in your best maniacal voice that if your chia doesn't shape up you will add it to box of other chia pets that have crossed you.

As a final word, remember if you try these tips and then fold under the pressure, unable to follow through with "Tough Love" you will be destine to live under the oppression and tyranny of your Chia.

Good luck.

if i were u i would lock it up in the kitchen. it needs to be in a familiar place so it doesn't get scared. maybe keep it in a cage... or on a high place so he can't jump.
