But the color that reaches our eyes from a particular raindrop depends on the angle between it and the line formed by the sun's rays. Many raindrops, each sending colored light at certain angles, form a complete rainbow. A trick to learning the order of the colors, just remember the name: Roy G. Biv. In other words, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet.

Rainbows reflect seven colors red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet. Rainbows occur when light passes threw something that refracts it ( Like water or clouds). The white light has all seven colors in it and when it passes through a cloud it splits and shows all its seven colors.

The light we see from the sun consists of all wavelengths of visible light, which we simply see as white because they are all together. When light is refracted, different wavelengths refract at different angles, therefore the various colors are separated. We generally consider rainbows to have 7 colors; however, they actually consist of every color. The color is constantly changing from red to violet.

seeing all the frequencies of white light. If you take white light (sunlight, flashlight) and shine a beam of photons Through color filtered you see all the frequencies of light less the filtered light. so for example if we filter light thru a red film - we see all the other light but red. We call this group of frequencies RED. If you take white light and thru a clear filter and look at it on angle you see a prism effect and instead of white light you see a rainbow of the three primary colors red, blue, green FYI green minus blue yields yellow.
