If you don't want or need anything tell them to make a donation in your name to your local Children's Hospital, or put a gift basket together for a needy family.

You betcha it is, Daisy. I did that last year since I was in need of some new warm house shoes/slippers. I heard about a special sale of all house shoes before Christmas, and had someone get me a warm pair of Dearfoam house shoes. I didn't feel guilty in the slightest. They were a need I wanted to fill, and did. As far as computer chairs go, the one I have, I have used for over seven years, and I actually got it, for free. Someone was going to send it to the trash, and it worked just fine. So it continues to work fine, even though now I could use some extra cushioning to give me more padding. Usually there is a good thrift store in every community. I have always checked them if I'm wanting something that would be too costly to buy new, before I buy retail. I've even bought a like new entertainment center to house the smaller TV I used to have. And sometimes things get marked too low and you can really find a bargain. The Goodwill stores seem to sell the best quality. And then there are Salvation Army stores too, which depending on the donation area, can have some nice things. There are many more as well, that represent other organizations. And there are stores that put things on consignment to sell. You can now buy from thrift stores some surprisingly good quality items. It pays to visit them each week, to see what new donations have come in. Some will even take your phone number to call you, if they get the item you're looking for. If you have the time, they've got the bargains. And who's to know they aren't knew wnen you get them home? Especially if they've been taken care of. It's a whole other world of shopping out there, so happy hunting, during this holiday season.

I would have them make a donation to a good charity in your name. This is a time of year that we should be thankful for everything we do have!

No it's not a stupid question but you should ask for something simple like a santa doll.

What is your favorite store? Gift cards are always great gifts when you don't know what you want! Or if you think of something, write it down and get back to him.
