3 million dollars and counting, 11 million was found in one shed on some property Saddam owned, so it would be impossible to tell how much they had, or how much was stolen!1

I don't know the numbers, but here is something to consider.

As a dictatorship all of the money was Sadaam's, not the peoples, to do with as he saw fit. I am certain that he had much more than the current government does now. The newly formed government has the potential to be the wealthiest nation in the region. The civil war taking place there is a pretty big sinkhole for those funds though.

Its pretty ridiculous to ask how much money did Iraq have before the war>>
>> When their history shows, that they are habitual liars ?

Its pretty ridiculous to ask how much money did Iraq have before the war>>
>> When they constantly hide WMD from UN inspectors

Its pretty ridiculous to ask how much money did Iraq have before the war>>
>> When their own citizens were being killed for asking that question

Its pretty ridiculous to ask how much money did Iraq have before the war>>
>> When you and I know that they have over $300 bil, and millions unaccounted for, and probably, its being used to support the sectarian violence today, that can contribute to the deaths of our troops. By the way, did you ever see a corrupt politition give you his account records kept, I guess the premise may fit in.

Iraq government was Saddams' government. the appropriate question would be how much does Saddam have before the war. Billions. and yes, stolen from iraqis.

I don't know exact numbers, but here is what I DO know:
Hussein lived in opulence you can't even imagine, even by OUR standards. Just down the road from one of his palaces, there was a ten-member family living in a one-room mud SHACK with barely enough food to survive.
No, this money has not been stolen.
I have a friend whose platoon found several million dollars. No one took even one dollar of it. It was turned over to the government.

They were pretty much broke. They were left hugely in debt after the Iran-Iraq war, so they invaded Kuwait - bad idea. They were even more in the red after that (ie billions of dollars).

$4.20. But they spent most of it on flea-spray.
But they're doing better now that the Americans hired somebody to clean up the camel sh*it.
