My family's always opened presents on Christmas morning (after Santa's visit, y'see).
On Christmas Eve, we read together, go to special services at church (if any), watch old, familiar holiday movies on VHS or DVD, listen to music, make cookies, make early preparations for Christmas Day holiday dinner.
Then, for some of us, there's cuddling and smooching with our designated smoochers!

When I was a kid, we'd open gifts with my dad's family on Christmas Eve and with my mom's family on Christmas Day. Since I've grown up and moved away and had my own little family, we just stick to Christmas Day. I love the feeling of Christmas morning surprises :)

Christmas morning. As a child we had a pillow slip which was left on the end of our bed empty Christmas Eve and miraculously full of presents when we woke up. The hard part was waiting for everyone to wake up so we could open them.

Both because I go to two different places. The most gifts are at my moms house and we've always done that Christmas morning as soon as I wake up.
