I think that animal abusers are the worst kind of abusers. The reason why is because children and even parents have more ways to fight for themselves than little kittens and puppies. I do think that all abuse is horrible but humans can speak out to someone while animals cannot. What do you think about vets abusing their patients?

I get a little sick to my stomach every time I see an animal abuser get off with a measily fine and a week in jail. Thats bull ****. And it just says to the abuser that its alright to keep doing it because the consequences are a joke anyway. I think the punishment for animal abuse should be -take what they did to the animal, times it by 2 and do it to them. If they starved the animal for 3 weeks they shouldnt be allowed to eat for 6. if they beat the animal they should be beaten twice as bad. harsh as it may sound, i have no pity for animal abusers. theres no excuse for it. If you dont have the patience for an animal, DONT GET ONE!! simple as that. how can you look at their sweet little faces and want to cause them harm? it makes me sick! I dont think its *worse* than child abuse but I think theyre both horrible and the punishments for both crimes needs to be greatly increased. I think if someone is convicted of animal abuse even once they should never be allowed to own another animal again, and if they get caught with one, they should be subjected to a HUGE fine, just for owning another animal, even if they havent abused it...*yet* because once an animal abuser, always an animal abuser. And the punishment for a vet should be doubled as well. You dont get a career that involves animals if you dont like them. thats stupid. People are giving them their pets, and their money, and thinking they can trust them. If the abuse that trust (and the animal) they should be instantly jailed, and have their licenses taken away forever.

I disagree. There was a baby nuked in a microwave recently. I don't think that baby had any way to fight for her life. There are many people that can't speak for themselves: the mentally retarded, people who are severely brain damaged, the mentally ill, people in vegetative states. Animal cruelty laws do not hold severe punishments. As for abusive vets, bad people are everywhere. Have a nice holiday.

They are the worst, despicible creatures on the face of the Earth (that includes my next-door nieghbor). The problem is that some people are just so ignorant of what animals need that they just ignore them---giving them food every once in a while. My nieghbor used to beat his dogs, and I used to hear the yelping. I wanted to do something about it, but we didn't have any proof. By the time we had a chance to get something, he stopped. Now they are just stuck in the backyard all day, whimpering and whining. The yard is a mess. I hate it SO much. One of them is just a puppy, who barely has had a chance to experience life. I feel so sorry for her!

You are a strange ranger to think that animal abuse is worse than child abuse. Children do not have defenses against adults. Animal abuse is bad but nothing is worse than any abuse on another human. Animals can feel pain but they do not have the emotional anguish involved.

I think that is just horrible animals can't tell us what their thinking and so just to hurt/ abuse animals i would say why get animals.
Also when I see animals outside in the cold or in the hot weather it gets me every time and I want to know who the owner is and if I can do anything to help

I agree with you about animal abuse. They can't speak for themselves, so we have to speak for them. I think animal abusers , are very cold hearted individuals that need to be caught and put in jail. I also think that they need serious professional help and not be allowed to own any animal.

i,m not in favor of abusing anything needlessly, animals or human.i do think however that many d v m are unfairly accused of animal abuse.it,s pretty horrible resett ting a broken bone or resetting a joint that is out of socket. however this must be done and in some cases without anesthetic in order to save the animals life. veterinary work isn,t always 'pretty' i know!

They should have the abuse they carried out on the poor animal carried out on them. Then if that doesn't kill them, FORCE them to give money AND do time/volunteer at the ASPC, vet offices, shelters doing PAPERWORK ONLY! and let them see what effect their abuse has on other people.

Reseach shows that early sings of animal abuse is just one major characteristic in a serial killer!! Oh I cannot stand those kinds of people and our government does not have high enough sentencing for these people!
