Discuss the merits and difficulties of permitting people to choose more than one race?

The 2000 U.S. Census permitted people to identify themselves as being of more than one race, in recognition that several million American children have parents of two races.

+ Well since DNA has mixed across the world then I guess that everybody has at least some of all races mixed in so we can all claim that we are what ever race is having a party that day. Difficulties would be that no people would get a break because of race. the merits is that no people would get a break because of race. I think everyone should check all the boxes.
