I have a mouse running around inside the walls of my two-story house. I bought some DeCon pellets, but now have no idea how to get them between the walls, short of cutting out a section of drywall. Would it work to put some into the holes behind the electrical outlets? Don't know much about house construction. Can anyone help me out as to how to get the DeCon inside the walls, how much I need to use, and how many places I need to put it? I have heard the darned thing in just about every room of my house!

Mouse Between Walls

oh--sorry to tell you, but they are running all over the house, not just in the walls. they tend to run out at night. supposedly, they only need a hole smaller than the size of a quarter (that's it!) to get in through a door or crack or anything. the best bet is the garage, basement & attic. look around for greyish marks or scratch marks by doors; this will be the grease from their hair & scratches from their nails. also, traps are better b/c that way you find the dead rotting carcus and can toss it out before it stinks up the place. and before the dead mouse creates the problem of flies.
also, find the food source & put the trap/poison there.
borrow a cat and don't feed it for a day.

1st of all you want to look for any small openings around plumbing areas. check in the attic or crawl space for any openings where they're getting in from. If you have a basement check there. they have to have some place to enter to get in. Remeber that they can squeeze down into extremely small palces, less than a 1/4 size of they're bodies. they'll usually come out at night to eat. I real tip for mice. they love peanut butter. I've caught as many as 20 mice in one night with it. Try putting a regular trap under the kitchen sink area. Use a small piece of cheese cloth or some other very porous material. Put the peanut butter on it, roll it up into a small bundle, and tie it onto the trigger. Tie the trap onto one of your water or drain pipes so if you get a large one, it doesn't run off with it & get loose. Locating there entrance is still the key.

put a little pile of organic matter from the kitchen near a little pool of water at the back of your lot and let the mice find their way to the food. You haven't thought ahead to the part where you have dead animals inside your walls, stinking up the place, attracting other animals, nasty bugs and all kind of disease carrying things that feast on rotten corpses.

I live in the mountains, short of bear or bobcats living in my walls, i'm ok. I have squirrels that run through my walls now and then, near where the chimney flue (and warmth) is, and the sound drives my little dogs nuts. Like a scene from poltergeist only no jewelry falls out of my ceiling. It's amusing .

Do not poison. When he dies in the wall it will stink for weeks!

You probally have a whole family of mice. They like to come inside when it gets cold.

Those electronic things that you plug in and make noise that only the animal can hear work well for me, but don't use it if you have other pets. It will drive your pets crazy.

Otherwise trap/remove.

find out where they are getting in the walls, there is an entrance somewhere and it could be the size of a dime, place traps with peanut butter around the perimeter of the house and in the attic if its accessable.

I wouldn't poison the mice. Once they die they'll die in the walls and stink. If you have animals or children they may eat the poison. Buy mouse traps and tie them to something so they aren't dragged off.
