I am 1 1/2 cm dilated and 50% effaced and my midwife has given me 5-w to get things going. I have been taking it for 2 weeks now and yesterday i went to the doctor and she tried to strip my membranes but she could not really reach it. She did 2 times and she stretched my cervix and she did a little sweeping but couldnt really get in there. Well how long do you think it will be before i go into labor?

I know this sucks. I am 39 weeks. 2cm and 70% effaced. My midwife tried to stip my membranes yesterday and she told me the same thing they told you. I left the office in tears because this is my 2 child and most women go into labor early than this with theirs. I am so miserable, so I know how you feel. I wish I knew how close I was.

Good luck!!!

My youngster's head has been engaged and deep within the pelvis considering 32 weeks, I am now 38 weeks- there are tons extra matters to come back earlier than labour will start. Have you misplaced your mucus plug? Are you having consistent braxton hicks contractions? Are you leaking tons of fluid?

It is hard for any of us to tell you when you are going to go into labor so just be patient and know that when that little bundle of joy is ready to make it's debut then that is when it is going to happen, I was 2cm dilated for a few weeks before I went into full blown labor

GOOD LUCK TO YOU AND CONGRATS

RELAX!!! Your baby will come when he is ready. I know you are tired and want to meet your baby so try WALKING. A LOT. Walking and swaying side to side like you are swinging a hula hoop, helps the baby come down. It worked for me. The swaying actually makes your back feel better once you get a rhythm going. Hold your lower back with both hands and sway away.

Don't worry things should happen soon, take it a step at a time, after all, that baby has to come out.
