I got everything setup and i put a WEP security password now when i go to my laptop i double click my network it asks for the network key i put it in and thenit connects but says limited or no connectiviry? someone help me

Put your laptop close to the router. Your router has an SSID. Does the laptop see that SSID? If it sees other SSID's, those are not your router.

You said you put in a security password on the router,but you mentioned a network key on the laptop. It the WEP key automatically generated by the security password? If so, copy it very carefully, a single error will stop you from connecting.

If the brand of router and wireless interface are different, they may do passord->setwork key translation differently. when in doubt just use a random 26 digit hexadecimal number.

Make sure you are not entering a WPA password (or router management password) if it is asking for the WEP key. WEP keys are generated by the router, whereas WPA passwords are the ones you set yourself.

somthing else isnt right ... maybe the modem isnt assigning the router an ip for some reason ... open a command prompt and type ipconfig/all and see whats missing ..

right clck the wireless icon and press repair and wait for it to be finished. if it does not work, try unplugging the wireless router for 10 seconds and try agian

don't dble click it, you should not have to cliclk anything do to the signal you just need to wait untill its up and running

Call your ISP provider.They may have to set it remotely.
