I go to the home town newspaper, in the back of the building where the people that deliver papers go,, Go inside and ask one of the workers if they have any escess rolls they could let you have. I do that and they give the excess to me, there is a lot of paper left on the roller, you can get any size you want, comes in three sizes. They wind up throwing it in the garbage, if no one gets it. I use it for my dog or to do packing with it...Hope this helps.

Most newspapers are printed on standard 30-lb. newsprint. However, some are printed on 'premium' sheets, such as 35-lb.
USA TODAY, I believe, is still printed on Donahue newsprint that is manufactured in Canada.
Assuming you don't want to buy newsprint by the ton, or train-car loads, as most major newspaper publishers do, I'd suggest three things:
1) Many newspaper printers have excess newsprint rolls with small amounts of paper left over. Usually this gets thrown out. Go to the press room, behind the offices of your local newspaper, and ask if you can have those;
2) Some arts and craft stores sell small sheets of newsprint that is pre-packaged in, perhaps, 6-12 sheets;
3) Your local print shop might be able to get you newsprint in small quantities that fits their press sizes. -RKO-

Newspapers are printed on a wood pulp paper.Its about the cheapest paper you can get and has a very short lifespan.
You can get this type of paper at an art store in large tablets that the art students use in their life drawing classes.
Manila paper is the next step up for cheap drawing papers.

you would need a specialized printer I assume...or maybe even a printing press. You can buy the paper at craft stores I believe.
