a sad fact of life is that racism exists everywhere. in every part of this sad and beautiful world. it has always exited and it's probably always will. i live in the U.K and most racism here originates from the false belief that minorities get all the work which is impossible because whites make up 90% of the population. another cause for racism is the fear of cultures that are not like their own and the sad belief that any other culture is a threat to their own. SAD BUT TRUE!!!!!

The UK, yes unfortunately, although I optimistically wouldn't say that the majority are racist, and many are mindlessly so. The shocking recent increase in support for the fascist neo-Nazi BNP through disenchantment with the main parties, where votes where gained even among ethnic minorities, is an example of this. Education at secondary level on the implications of racism in a political context could combat this.

Yup. Didn't you see how many blacks were living in a London ghetto on Being Bobby Brown. I was shocked. I didn't even know they had ghetto's in London. Silly me. Just like the rest of world didn't know how badly blacks were treated in the USA and got a wide eye opening experience when all those images flashed on the news around the world when hurricane Katrina hit. They thought America treated all their citizens the same they called America the land of milk and honey, but not for blacks. The rest of the world just doesn't want any one to know how bad they treat people of a darker color. Works well too, or you won't even ask this question.

Having lived in both for 3 or 4 years each I can testify that there is. Spanish people would spit on white women married to black American soldiers. Black military were not even allowed into Spain until the 70's.
In UK they punks do paki-bashing. They will find a Pakistani, on his own,of course, and beat him up. They openly deny even fundamental rights to foreigners. They openly discriminate housing and services to other races.

Absolutely, try asking any sort of question with the word 'muslim' on here. Before anyone has even read the question properly you will be flooded with answers from right wing Daily Mail readers telling you how Muslims and "illegals" have taken over the country and cancelled Christmas. It would be funny if it wasn't so heartbreaking!

Racism is everywhere, but there is going to be a heavy price to pay for it and it's coming soon, and it's not going to be in monetary terms either.
